New dating trend "whelming" could be the worst one yet
Let's be honest, dating is dangerous. Whether you're developing a repetitive strain injury from swiping left or whiplash from dodging unwanted pictures, you're constantly at risk of doing yourself some damage. And, there are constantly new ways that you can hurt yourself - with perpetual eye-rolling over this latest trend, perhaps.
It goes by the name of "whelming" and is severely underwhelming. The trend sees people subtly (or not so subtly) gloating about the amount of matches and/or dates they have been on. And, honestly, why would you? ...

'Toy Story 4' Review: You've still got a friend in me
This one is personal. In 1995, the original Toy Story was released, a film that would light the flame of my longest love affair - the cinema. As well as solidifying what I already knew as a child - my toys were actually alive, something that still gets me from time-to-time if I see one being mistreated, Toy Story thrust me into the movie experience, something that’s become hugely significant in my life. I owe this film quite a lot...
The hard truth about 'lazy millennials'
We’re a lazy generation who expects everything we want in life to come easily. Hell, some may even say that we lack dedication, patience and effort and are just on the hunt for something that makes us special, a “schizophrenia of significance” if you will.
However, what a lot of the people claiming that millennials are freeloading losers don’t seem to realise, is that we’re in an economy that has been chewed up and spat out by our predecessors. Ironically, the ones that continue to call us out for our disinterest in putting in hard work...

Sorry, social media may actually be making our lives better
We all dabble in the world of social media - you’re probably on it right now. Instagram alone has over 500 million users per day while Facebook has over 2 billion and Snapchat… is significantly less thanks to Kylie Jenner, but it’s safe to say that there’s a fair few of us that are pretty busy.
Since the rise of social media, the world has erupted into disarray as we’ve mourned the loss of genuine human connection.
Whether it’s food, family and friends or even our own faces, we’ve gotten used to seeing everything through a screen and rather than reaching for our significant other first thing in the morning, we’re reaching for another significance - our mobile phones...

'Aladdin' Review: A familiar magic in a league of its own
The live-action version of Disney’s Aladdin has stirred up some major attention. The highly anticipated remake has had Disney fans shaking in their slippers over whether the film will completely ruin their childhoods or breathe life into an old favourite.
Well, you can officially wish those qualms goodbye - this film is absolute perfection.
As a major Aladdin fan who (unashamedly) knows all the words to every song, I personally went into the theatre having to remind myself to be open-minded. But, consider it blown...

We have to stop giving women an on-screen 'moment'
Dear filmmakers, directors, writers, tv producers and pretty much anyone involved in the entertainment industry:
Please stop giving women a moment.
We understand that in keeping up with the times and women’s rights, it’s important to display strong female characters. Because we’re lapping it up. We also understand that, as creatives, you do not want to compromise the storyline but you have a certain criteria to fill, which includes that “empowering” moment for us humble gals to feel like we’re just great for a minute...

Important details you may have missed from 'Frozen 2'
Frozen 2 was released over the weekend and although it's been a few days, I am absolutely not ready to stop talking about it. As any Disney fan knows, nothing is ever as simple as it seems and animators and creatives go above and beyond to make sure every little detail is perfectly in place. Scattered throughout Frozen 2 are some little details that although subtle, add a whole other layer to the film...
Resigning from toxicity
We’ve all heard the line, “People just don’t want to work these days” - à la Kim Kardashian. But let’s get real: people aren’t quitting because they’re lazy—they’re ditching toxic environments. It’s not about avoiding work; it’s about avoiding places that drain the life out of you faster than a bad plot twist.
Want to know a secret? In the right place, people love to work...
